Capacity-Building and Support Measures
The LORELEI-X project capitalizes on the expertise of two esteemed Advanced Partners: The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), prominent for its leadership in autonomous marine vessel design, and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), recognized for its excellence in autonomous control and navigation. These complementary strengths position the partners to play a critical role in enhancing the research and innovation (R&I) capacity of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI), particularly in marine robotics and sustainable vessel design. Through this collaboration, CMMI is set to achieve significant advancements in cutting-edge maritime technologies.
Capacity-building and Networking activities will focus on strengthening the Research & Innovation capacity and skills of CMMI via the following:
Define a joint scientific and innovation roadmap: LORELEI-X will establish a forward-looking research and innovation roadmap that integrates the expertise of NTNU and DTU with CMMI’s strategic goals, , while being aligned with relevant European-level SRIAs.
Enhancement of Scientific and Technical Skills: Via multidimensional activities focused on knowledge transfer and capacity-building. These include short-term staff exchanges on scientific missions, knowledge exchange between experts through visits and training, and capacity-building workshops.
Strengthening Research Management and Innovation Capacity: Enhance research management, administration, dissemination, and entrepreneurial skills of CMMI’s personnel via knowledge transfer and capacity-building on robotics proposal and project management, large research infrastructure management, innovation management, entrepreneurship, spin-off creation and business planning, IPR protection and exploitation, national robotics cluster formation and management.
Influence R&I policymaking in Cyprus, the Widening Area and Europe: LORELEI-X will provide strategic guidance to integrate research outcomes into national and EU-level policy, ensuring influence in R&I policymaking in Cyprus, the Widening Area and Europe.
